Evening & Weekend Caretaker

Duties: Seeking a “Weekend Caretaker” for the historic site of Old Salem.  In exchange for efforts to satisfy this volunteer position, the caretaker will be given a residence within the district. Experience in facilities management and public engagement are desirable.  Essential job functions include, but are not limited to, overseeing all weekend and after-hours operations & emergency situations.

Requirements/Qualifications: This position requires the ability to climb multiple stairs into buildings with limited ADA accessibility, traverse the entire historic district over gravel, brick, asphalt, dirt, stone walks, and respond to emergencies quickly both physically as well as via phone.
