Christmas by Candlelight Tours

Each tour includes walking distances in a hilly area, standing outside, and standing for long periods of time. The Tavern & Vierling House are not handicapped accessible. It is recommended that participants wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes. Tours are available to a limited number of people and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tours will meet at the Herbst House at 6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm and 8:00pm.
Cost: $20/Adults; $15/Children $18 & $13 for Friends Salem (Visit our Friends of Salem webpage for more information on becoming a Friend of Salem)
Space is limited and pre-registration is required (walk-ups cannot be accomodated), please call 1-800-441-5305. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
*Tickets are non-refundable. Tours will be cancelled 7 days prior if a minimum number is not met. If this is the case then a full refund will be issued.
**In the case of inclement weather tours may be cancelled, and a full refund will be issued. If the weather is questionable on the day of your tour please call 336-721-7350 to inquire about the status of your tour. If Old Salem is closed for the day due to weather the tour will be cancelled for safety reasons.

Old Salem offers two Candlelight Tour Experiences - each explores a different time period, and will certainly put you in the Holiday Spirit!
Christmas by Candlelight 18th Century Tour November 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30
--Registration Opens-- September 15, 2013
--Registration Deadline-- 12:00pm on Friday prior to tour
Take a guided tour by candlelight through the Historic District where the customs and traditions of an 18th century Salem Christmas will be brought to life through all of your senses. The evening will include music, games, food and drink, and interacting with our staff to create your own special memories. During the tour you will visit the Saal of the Single Brothers’ House and the Tavern.
Christmas by Candlelight 19th Century Tour December 6, 7, 13, 19, 20, & 21

Take a guided tour by candlelight through the Historic District where the customs and traditions of an 19th century Salem Christmas will be brought to life through all of your senses. The evening will include music, food and drink, and interacting with Old Salem Museums & Gardens staff to create your own special memories. During the tour you will visit the homes of Dr. Vierling and Brother Vogler.
