Directions

Old Salem is located south of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Old Salem Visitor Center address is 900 Old Salem Road for those who use navigational devices. Brown highway signs from US Highway 52 and Interstate 40 in Winston-Salem will help you to find Old Salem from the Stadium Drive exit.

FROM HWY-52 NORTHBOUND or SOUTHBOUND - take exit 108C to Stadium Drive

- Follow the brown signs

- Top of ramp turn right onto Stadium Drive

- At stoplight turn left onto Salem Avenue

- Follow Salem Avenue to the traffic circle

CARS - Enter traffic circle and take first right onto Old Salem Road

- Go under wooden pedestrian bridge

- Immediately turn left into Visitor Center

- Bear to the right into the larger parking lot

BUSES - Enter traffic circle and continue “straight” across exiting onto Salem Avenue

- At light turn right onto Marshall Street

- Go one block to top of rise

- Turn right at marked bus entrance into Visitor Center

- Pull into an “unloading” slot on the right

- After unloading continue left around the brown building into parking lot bus spaces

Other Directions

FROM I-40 EASTBOUND or WESTBOUND - take exit 193B for HWY-52

- Take exit 108C to Stadium Drive and follow above directions

FROM BUS-40 EASTBOUND - take exit #6B onto HWY-52

- Take exit 108C to Stadium Drive and follow above directions

OR take exit #5D - brown sign for Old Salem

- Take right fork onto Liberty Street which becomes Old Salem Road

CARS - continue through Academy Street stoplight

- Just before wooden pedestrian bridge turn right into Visitor Center

- Bear to the right past the big brown building into the larger parking lot

BUSES - At Academy Street stoplight turn right

- Next light turn left onto Marshall Street

- About two blocks down turn left just beyond a big brown building into the Visitor Center

- Pull into an unloading slot on the right

- After unloading continue left around the brown building into parking lot bus spaces

FROM BUS-40 WESTBOUND - take exit #6A onto HWY-52

- Take exit 108C to Stadium Drive and follow above directions

OR take exit #5D for Main Street/1st Street

- At top of ramp immediately get into the left lane

- At light turn left onto First Street

- At next light turn left onto Liberty Street which becomes Old Salem Road

CARS - follow directions above for BUS-40 Eastbound

BUSES - follow directions above for BUS-40 Eastbound

FOR GROUPS
- Park bus and let group leader go in for tickets.
- After getting tickets bus can unload passengers for Town Visit or continue to Experience Tour drop off
- After unloading at Visitor Center, the bus will continue left around the brown building into parking lot bus spaces.

Driving Times

Old Salem is less than 30 minutes from Greensboro (via Interstate 40 or Business 40) and High Point (via 311 and Interstate 40/HWY 52); just under two and a half hours from Asheville; two hours from Roanoke, Va.; and 90 minutes from Charlotte, Raleigh, and Boone, N.C.
