Garden Workshop: A Day in the Life of a Cheesemaker
co-owner with Sandra Sarlinga
of Piemonte Farm
Fabian is the cheesemaker and affineur (cheese ager). With the rich milk from cows, he creates homestead cheese, artisan aged cheese, and Italian inspired cheese.
A Peimonte Cheese tasting with unique pairings (herbal jellies and local honey) follows the workshop; farm product will also be available for purchase.
The ancient skills of artisan cheese making come back to life at this Piedmont, North Carolina farm. Following old-fashioned European techniques, the process of making cheese gives the word “handmade” real meaning. Learn about different kinds of cheeses and how they are created.
A free workshop hosted by Old Salem Horticulture.
