Old Salem Museums & Gardens invites children to participate in its annual Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Salem Square (South Main Street at Academy Street). Old Salem will provide a complimentary pumpkin (while the supply lasts) that children can carve for a chance to win a prize in several different categories.

Participants are asked to leave their completed jack-o-lanterns on the fence at Salem Square, where they will be lighted with candles at our Trick or Treat in Old Salem  night on South Main Street in Old Salem on Sunday evening, Oct. 30. Participants can take their pumpkins home, if they wish, after 7:30 p.m. that evening.

Carvers are asked to bring their own carving tools, and each child must be supervised by a parent, guardian or other adult. No pets, please.

Contest winners will be contacted and announced on Old Salem’s Facebook page.

No ticket is required.  For more information, please contact info@oldsalem.org or 336-721-7300.
