The Greater Vision Dance Company and the St. Philips Heritage Center will host the last day of Kwanzaa, Imani (ee-MAH-nee). The event will include African dance, music and art. A candle lighting will be held for the seventh principle, Imani (Faith) which means: “To believe, with all our heart, in our Creator, our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.”

Kwanzaa means “first fruits of the harvest” in the African language Kiswahili. It focuses on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce and self-improvement.
