Old Salem Celebrates Independence Day

 

            Old Salem Museums & Gardens will celebrate the rich heritage of the Historic Town of Salem on July 3 & 4, with a full slate of demonstrations, hands-on activities, and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. 

 

Activities include:         

 

July 3:

T. Vogler Gunshop:  Discussions of the Vogler Eagle    

Historic Tavern:  Reading of the Declaration of Independence 10:00am & 1:30pm

Tavern Meadow:  Rifle/Musket Demonstrations

Single Brothers’ House:  Psalm of Joy performed by Singing Sisters, Saal, 11:00am-3:00pm periodically

Vierling House:  Springerle Cookies will be made featuring the Vogler Eagle

Vesper of cookies & lemonade served to guests 2:00pm-4:00pm

Vierling Barn:  Hands-on Activity: Creating your own Revolutionary War era flag  11:00am-12:00pm; 1:00pm-4:00pm

In the District:

            Moravian Brass Band

            Games on the Square 11:00am-4:00pm

            Fire Drills  11:00am & 2:00pm

 

July 4:

Tavern:  Reading of the Declaration of Independence  2:00pm

Vogler:  Vesper of Cookies & Lemonade served to guests 2:00pm-4:00pm

Gunshop:  Discussions of the Vogler Eagle
