MESDA’s 2014 Furniture Seminar turns to the exploration of international and regional influences in southern turned furniture. Speakers will address important groups of turned chairs from Virginia, North Carolina South Carolina and Georgia. The seminar will include a workshop demonstration on the lathe, a collection study of turned furniture in the MESDA collection and a special exhibition of the furniture of Salem cabinetmaker Karsten Petersen.. This year join Johanna Brown, Dale Couch, Peter Follansbee, Mark Wenger, and others, for this two day exploration of the southern turned furniture.
