WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (SEPTEMBER 15, 2016) – Tickets are now on sale for Old Salem Museums & Gardens’ popular Legends and Lanterns Halloween Tours and Christmas by Candlelight Tours. Both of these tours are guided and sell out quickly.
Tickets for either tour are $40 per person, (plus applicable sales tax). Tour group size is limited and the tours fill up quickly. Please call 1-800-441-5305 to reserve a tour date and time.
Legends and Lanterns Halloween Tours
Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30
Tour times: every 15 minutes starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m.
Are you afraid of the dark? Come find out by joining a Legends and Lanterns walking tour at Old Salem. Cross our haunted covered bridge if you dare! Once on the other side, a costumed guide will light the way by lantern through Salem’s nighttime streets. Visit several haunted stops in the historic district, where you will hear tales of a local ghostly legend, or interact with a person from the past. You might even catch a glimpse of a ghost or two while visiting our historic buildings.
Tours are scheduled every 15 minutes and last 45 minutes to one hour. Participation is limited, reservations for tour times recommended. Content is suitable for all ages. Please wear comfortable shoes as the tour includes a fair amount of walking, including on some uneven surfaces such as cobblestone and brick sidewalks. Due to the historic nature of Old Salem Museums & Gardens, the Single Brothers’ House and Salem Tavern are not handicapped accessible.
Christmas by Candlelight Guided Tours

Tour times: 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m.
Take a guided tour by candlelight through the Historic District where the customs and traditions of Christmas in Salem will be brought to life through all of your senses. The evening will include music, games, food, drink, and interacting with Old Salem costumed interpreters. During the tour you will visit the Miksch House, the first family home in Salem, the 18th-century Salem Tavern Museum, and the 19th-century John Vogler House.
Content is suitable for all ages. Please wear comfortable shoes as this tour includes a fair amount of walking, including on some uneven surfaces such as cobblestone and brick sidewalks.
