The history of photography and printing in Salem is celebrated in an exhibit in the John Christian Blum house in Old Salem. Some of the images and items, including a leather album, a wood-and-metal perforator used in bookbinding and bits of metal type found in the yard of the house, have never been on public display. The exhibit has three parts -- an area devoted to printing, a gallery of photos taken in Salem by an itinerant photographer in 1882, and exhibits  that trace the evolution of photography in Salem.
