School Groups

We offer a variety of tours to meet your students and your curriculum needs. Our Hands-On History tours are museum educator led, approximately 2 1/2 hours in length, and are for grades 1 – 8. For a detailed description of the activities and NC Competency Goals and Objectives for each grade level click here. The self-guided Footsteps Through History tour provides students the opportunity to interact with our costumed interpretive staff while touring the historic district. This is an excellent way to see all the buildings in Salem and can be added on to a morning or afternoon Hands-On History experience to complete your day at Old Salem Museums & Gardens. We also offer the Salem Day video that provides an introduction to the history of the Moravians, the founding of Salem and a glimpse into the daily lives of the early settlers.
