SUMMARY:Sounds of Salem: July 4th Psalm of Joy
DESCRIPTION:Join us on America’s 250th birthday for a special performance of one of our first American anthems. Psalm of Joy was composed for Salem’s first Independence Day celebration in 1783. A Moravian minister as well as a talented musician\, Peter infused the work with themes of peace and thanksgiving. The piece blends accessibility with sophistication: approachable enough for community participation\, yet clearly influenced by composers like Haydn and other Central European contemporaries. \nConcert admission is included with general admission ticket. Concert tickets may be purchased separately for $10 online or at the door.
