Description:
Surveyor’s implement. Triangular shaped with curved bottom with a scale on it. A movable arm is connected to the top of the triangle and to the curved piece which it slid along to calculate the measurement.
History:
HISTORY: This octant was used by surveyors for locating positions, such as latitude and longitude.
