Description:
Salt-glazed staoneware jug with just a touch of cobalt at the top and terminal of handle;handle top is tattcahed to mouth of jug; Stamped “Goodwin/ & Webster/ Hartford.” This jug is typical of the everyday wares produced by the Webster and Goodwin families of Hartford, Connecticutt, and which would have inspired Edward and Chester Webster before they relocated first to Fayetteville, NC, and later to Randolph County, NC, to work as stoneware potters.
