Description:
Unfinished muzzle-loading rifle. Percussion lock with engraving on plate. No trigger guard or triggers. No stock. Curved cheek. Well defined comb with incised line. Octagon barrel.
History:
According to tradition, this was the last rifle worked on by Salem gunsmith, William Dettmar. William Dettmar donated this rifle to the Wachovia Historical Society in the late 19th or early 20th century.
