History:
This longrifle with its original flintlock was made by Christoph Vogler. VOGLER is stamped on the barrel of the gun. Although it is simple in design, it possesses many of the characteristics common to the Salem School of Gunsmithing. The rifle carries a double spur or hooked trigger guard and has an incised line running along the comb. It also exhibits an engraved brass eagle patchbox. In comparison to the rifle on the left, this rifle’s stock architecture is slender through its entire length and is without carving, except for the forestock molding with its incised scroll work.
