Description:
Cast iron ten-plate stove inscribed on sides ” S. HUGHES” and decorated with an eagle and twenty stars on each side. There is an allegorical figure on the front, over the fire door, along with an upright floral design on the back plate. The oven opening is not equipped with doors. Stove is held together with two bolts on each side at the corners. Five inch stovepipe opening at front of top plate. Round lip-like plate extends from the base, out in front of the door. Two semi-circle iron bars underneath the stove, with the splayed legs.
History:
This stove was used to heat the dining room.
