Description:
DESCRIPTION: A wooden zink or cornett made in three sections. There are six holes on top and one on the bottom of the middle section. Boxwood with horn rings, string windings, ivory mouthpiece.
History:
LABEL NOTES: The accession card states that “This instrument has been out of use 100 years or more.”

REMARKS: Instrument constructed in 3 sections, rather like a flute or oboe; round in cross-section. Holes show little sign of wear; was it in fact used? Excellent condition. Detachable mouthpiece of ivory, in excellent condition.

PLAYING CHARACTERISTICS: Good, clear tone.
