Description

At the turn of the nineteenth century, the shop of master potter, Rudolph Christ, began making press-molded bottles.  The bottles came in many forms including chickens and owls.  The chicken bottles were often pierced with holes at the top so they could serve as casters or sanders (for dispensing spices or fine powders).  Similar press-molded bottles were made in Salem throughout the nineteenth century by Christ’s successors as well.  Our delightful Chicken Bottle with terracotta glaze measures approximately 3.5″ tall x 4.5″ long x 2″ wide.  Created using only lead-free glazes.  Your chicken will arrive with a “Handcrafted Salem 1766” tag and packed in a kraft gift box.
