Description
Wooden spinning tops have been around for nearly 4000 years and there is a strong wooden top tradition coming out of the Ore Mountains of Germany along the Czech border. In Salem, the Moravian children would have received simple gifts such as an orange, a hand-written bible verse, a candle, a piece of ribbon, and very possibly a wooden toy, like the tops you see pictured. Our tops been made with care by a talented Old Salem master craftsman. He turns each by hand and finishes them with raw linseed oil, which is totally safe for children. Small tops measure approximately 2.5-3″ x 2.25″ and are made of Black Walnut. Designs vary; allow us to choose for you.
