Sounds of Salem: Evolution of the American Keyboard

July 18 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Our final concert in the Sounds of Salem series, each program contains brief anecdotes from the musicians, offering insight into the music you’re about to hear, its historical significance, and its connections to the Moravian musical tradition. This concert is about 1 hour and 30 minutes with a short intermission.

From the historic Tannenberg Organ in Salem to the modern baby grand piano, this concert traces the evolution of the American keyboard. Experience the sounds of the organ, harpsichord, clavichord, and melodeon alongside today’s piano, performed by Myron D. Brown, Barbara Lister-Sink, Dreama Lovitt, and Timothy Olsen.

Concert admission is included with general admission. Concert tickets may also be purchased separately for $10 at the link below or at the door.
