Back by popular demand! Join the Old Salem metalworkers to create your very own pewter spoon. Pewter was a common material for dining ware in the 18th century and along with tin smithing, made up a large portion of the metalwork occurring in early Salem. Come participate in the magic of casting and learn the skills of finishing fine pewterware, just as they did in Salem in the 1700’s. Participants will use traditional tools and methods to create their own keepsake pewter spoon to take home!

Paste Paper Blank Books
June 6th | 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
$50 | Ages 16+

If you love 18th century crafts, this is the workshop for you!
We will get hands-on with the traditional techniques of creating hand-made blank books with colorful paste paper–a Moravian tradition used for book binding, stationary, and more. This workshop will teach the techniques needed to make small journals, ledgers, or even pocket sketchbooks. Participants will each get to cover and bind a book of their own, and make paste paper for at-home projects. We’ll see you there!
