Salem Saturdays in Autumn Workshop: Make a Moravian Candle Holder

Workshop Description: Make a Moravian “violin back” candle sconce form Old Salem’s collection using traditional tools and techniques in the Blum house Joinery. In this class you will learn how to cut out a design using a frame saw, clean and refine the profiles and chamfer the edges using rasps and files, and fit together a simple mortise and tenon to create a usable candleholder.

Cost: This fundraising event is $50.00 per person-Ages 14+

Workshop Location: The Joiner’s House ( John C. Blum House) , 521 S. Main Street
