Geothermal is a renewable energy concept that encourages conservation of natural resources by making use of the earth’s own stable temperature when measured below grade or water.  The founding Moravians would have found such application relevant to their ecological leanings in protecting their timber land and water sources and even in how they heated their own buildings.  Raise your own temperature of learning by touring our new geothermal system in the recently restored Boy’s School.  The tour will discuss the workings of the system, how such systems benefit the conservation of historic buildings, and the connection of geothermal to the practices of the early Moravians.

Tour will begin at the Boys’ School Piazza, 3 East Academy, directly behind the building at the corner of Main & Academy Streets.
