Moravian Lovefeast Bun Mix

Description

During a Moravian Lovefeast, a simple meal of a bun and sweetened coffee is served to the congregation in a show of fellowship.  At Winkler Bakery in Old Salem Museums & Gardens, Lovefeast Buns are a staple sold daily to our visitors and local customers.  They are slightly sweet, with a touch of nutmeg and are enjoyed plain or used for sandwiches.  Our Lovefeast Bun Mix allows you to make our special recipe at home.  The mix includes flour, granulated sugar, instant mashed potatoes, dry milk, yeast, salt, and nutmeg, and requires you to add 3/4 cup butter or margarine, two eggs, one cup water, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar.  Thorough instructions are included to help you with every step of the process.
